July 3, 2005 10:28AM

As the Director of Policy, Trey is responsible for overseeing all Beacon Center policy projects and initiatives, serving as the point-person for the organization to policymakers, and conducting outreach and building coalitions to advance the Center’s mission. Prior to joining Beacon, Trey spent two years with The Windrow Group, a Nashville-based corporate strategy and government relations firm, lobbying Tennessee’s 107th General Assembly on behalf of a diverse client base ranging from top ten Fortune 100 companies to small businesses and from professionally-managed municipalities to metropolitan governments. Through this work, Trey became intimately aware of a wide array of state policy issues facing both businesses and communities of all sizes throughout the state. Trey began his work in Nashville during the 106th General Assembly as a legislative aide with the law firm of Miller & Martin where he acquired sound experience with Tennessee’s legislative and executive branches of government. He lived two years in post-Katrina New Orleans, Louisiana working in the commercial real estate appraisal industry with The McEnery Company, a multi-faceted brokerage, appraisal, and consulting firm, before returning to Middle Tennessee in 2009. Trey’s policy views are shaped chiefly by his belief in free markets and his passion for individual liberty. He is a 2007 graduate of The University of the South, where he majored in English, and a native of Gallatin, Tennessee. He currently resides in Nashville.
