Greg & Jennifer Biorkman founded Harpeth Montessori in 2021, a microshool located in Franklin, TN serving 100 children ages 18 months to 14 years old. Their main objective was to create a whole-family learning experience that would prepare children for life, educate parents, and build a strong sense of community. Classrooms are mixed-ages and learning plans are customized to the individual child. In addition to foundational academics, the children spend two hours a day outside working in the garden, playing sports, or exploring nature. As children enter their elementary years they receive weekly enrichments in music, art, entrepreneurship, American history, civics, homesteading, Spanish, and theatre.
