Beacon Hires Nationally Renowned Lawyer to Lead Litigation Arm
The Beacon Center of Tennessee today announced the addition of Wen Fa as its Director of Legal Affairs. In this role, Fa will lead the expansion of Beacon’s litigation efforts to protect Tennesseans’ freedoms from government overreach.
Fa joins Beacon from the Pacific Legal Foundation, where he served as a senior attorney in PLF’s equality and opportunity program. Fa led the expansion of PLF’s equality project by litigating numerous cases and securing important victories for farmers and entrepreneurs fighting for economic opportunity and against racial discrimination.
Fa has also brought two winning cases before the United States Supreme Court: the first vindicating the free speech right of voters to wear political apparel when they vote and the other protecting the property rights of agricultural businesses to exclude unwanted union activists.
“My parents and I emigrated from China decades ago to pursue our American dream,” said Fa. “I look forward to helping entrepreneurs, innovators, and property owners in the pursuit of their American dream by ensuring that courts enforce their constitutional rights.”
“We are excited for Wen to join our team and build upon our success challenging unconstitutional government actions,” said Beacon CEO Justin Owen. “Tennesseans from all across the state will benefit from Wen’s tenacity as we defend their freedoms in court.”
Fa is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and is licensed to practice law in Texas, California, and before various federal courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States.
