Amicus Brief: Flytenow v. FAA
Beacon joined an amicus brief before the U.S. Supreme Court to defend the right of a new company called Flytenow to operate. For decades, the Federal Aviation Administration has expressly allowed private pilots and passengers to connect and share flight expenses via airport bulletin boards. Flytenow is different only in that it allows these pilots and passengers to connect online. The FAA has effectively shut down the company by refusing to allow it to operate this business model. The FAA’s unconstitutional action is literally grounding innovation. For the sake of not just Flytenow, but for novel ideas everywhere, the FAA must be put in its place.
